November 24, 2010Important Meeting for Musicians – Sunday November 28th
November 24, 2010All local musicians (members of the Newfoundland Labrador Musicians’ Association, AFM Local 820 members and non-members) are invited to attend an OPEN meetingat the Gower Street United Church Hall in St. John’s Sunday, November 28th from 3 – 5 PM.
This meeting will deal with the following items:
– Association Change of Name
– Increase in Annual Membership Dues
– Developing contracts with Local Festivals
– Minimum Honorarium for Benefit Performances
– Working Conditions and Rates of Pay for Local Musicians
– Upcoming Broadcast Negotiations with Rogers and NTV
We would like participation from as many musicians as possible to discuss
the last item, because of concerns expressed to us about broadcast rights
that were assumed by the media during the recent Igor Benefit event at Mile

These issues affect all of us. Spread the word, invite your friends.
