Select Jazz, Blues and World Music Artist Nominated for Grammy’s in Other Categories Part 2

There are a number of Jazz, Blues and World Music artists nominated in non genre specific categories.

Billy Childs ensemble (also nominated in the category Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album ) is nominated for Best Instrumental Composition for the track ‘The Path Among the Trees’ from Autumn: In Moving Pictures Jazz – Chamber Music Vol. 2

There are a number of jazz related nominees in the category of ‘Best Instumental Arrangement’ including Vince Mendoza, for ‘Carlos’ arranged by John Scofield, Vince Mendoza & Metropole Orkest a track from ’54’. Monet by Ted Nash, arranged by the Jazz At Lincoln Center Orchestra a track from the album ‘Portrait In Seven Shades’. Skip To My Lou by Frank Macchia, a  track from ‘Folk Songs For Jazzers’ (see video below).

There are also numerous nominations from the worlds of Jazz and World music in the category ‘Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s)’. Nominations include ‘Baba Yetu’ aranged by Christopher Tin and featuring the Soweto Gospel Choir & Royal
Philharmonic Orchestra from the album ‘Calling all Dawns’ (see video below)

Also nominated in this category is Roger Treece for the song ‘Baby’ arranged by Bobby McFerrin from the Album Vocabularies. Vince Mendoza (also nominated in ‘Best Instrumental Arrangement’) is nominated for Based On A Thousand True Stories arranged by Silje Nergaard & Metropole Orchestra Strings. ‘Don’t Explain’ by Geoffrey Keezer is nominated and arrange by ‘Best Vocal Jazz Nominee‘  Denise Donatelli. The final nomination in this category is for ‘Imagine’ aversion of the John Lennon song by Herbie Hancock & Larry Klein arranged by ink, Seal, Jeff Beck, India.Arie, Konono No 1 and Oumou Sangare (see video below)
