Choices for Youth 20th Anniversary Gala

Come and celebrate 20 years of Choices for Youth with us in the Sheraton Hotel ballroom on November 9! We’ll have performances by Andrew James O’Brien and King Nancy, plus a silent auction with amazing items from community partners and supporters.

From October 10 – November 4, there will be 20 days of previews for our 20 Items of Hope Silent Auction, with a new item revealed each day on the Choices for Youth twitter and Facebook page(@choicesforyouth / facebook.com/choicesforyouth)! We’ll also reveal what our big grand prize is; an entry for that is included with your ticket!

There will also be a Pledge a Program feature that evening as well as great nibbles and delicious desserts.

Don’t miss an amazing evening in support of a great organization! Tickets are $45 each or 2 for $80 and available at Fred’s Records on Duckworth Street or at the 120 LeMarchant Road location of Choices for Youth (call 754-0446 for more info or to book today!).

Watch the Hot Soup Cool Jazz Event Video

Highlights from the 4th annual Hot Soup Cool Jazz event at the St. John’s Convention Centre. The evening brings together people from all walks of life & backgrounds to support youth homelessness and poverty in our community.

Ten soups were on offer from some of the finest restaurants including Aqua, Basho, Bianca’s, Gypsy Tea Room, Hungry Heart Cafe, Portobello’s, Raymonds & Yellow Belly with two special soups made by Jimmy Pratt Memorial Soup Kitchen as well as Choices for Youth.

The evening also featured jazz sounds from Wreckhouse Jazz and Blues plus a silent & live auction with auctioneer Wayne Bartlett and CBC’s Angela Antle who hosted the night.

Hot Soup, Cool Jazz Update

Wreckhouse Jazz & Blues is joining forces with Choices for Youth, the Jimmy Pratt Memorial Soup Kitchen, the NL division of the Canadian Mental Health Association and Vibrant Communities to host the 3rd Annual Hot Soup, Cool Jazz – a fundraising event to raise awareness of the housing and support needs of youth at risk and the impoverished of our community. Angela Antle and Karl Wells will play host to a gourmet soup tasting competition with soups provided by many of the fabulous Chef’s and restaurants of St. John’s. The festivities also include an exquisite bar of fine wines, both a silent and live auction and an exciting jazz concert to end out the evening.

As of 20th April 2010 tickets can no longer be purchased online however they are still available at the door.
