Market and Public Relations Coordinator, Neighbourhood Dance Works, Festival of New Dance

The 20th Anniversary Festival of New Dance is a banner event celebrating 20 years of contemporary dance in our community. The event will celebrate contemporary dance from across Canada, and present new and exciting choreography from the local dance scene.

The Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of promoting the festival while utilizing a wide range of media outlets, including electronic and print formats. They will create and distribute Public Service Announcements; set-up and participate in radio and TV interviews; arrange newspaper coverage, feature articles and reviews; solicit advertising for the festival program; oversee poster and brochure distribution and maintain all e-mail and phone follow-up with necessary contacts. The Candidate will work closely with the Managing Director and Festival Coordinator in a supportive environment to ensue deadlines are met.

The position requires that the candidate has qualifications and experience that includes: solid computer skills, administrative experience, the ability to communicate in writing and verbally, post-secondary education OR equivalent work experience, some knowledge of the arts and culture sector and knowledge of media targets.

The successful candidate will work well with others, be highly organized, have the ability to multi-task and have attention for detail. The position will provide invaluable work experience to a person who wishes to pursue a career in arts administration.

Salary: This is a JCP project and the candidate must be EI Eligible
