Canadian Jazz Legend Rob McConnell Passes Away. A Truly Great Musician

Rob McConnell February 14, 1935 – May 1, 2010

Canadian jazz valve trombonist, Rob McConnell passed away on May 1, 2010 but he will always be remembered for his many achievements as lead man of the Toronto big band, The Boss Brass. Some of his achievements include five JUNO Awards as well  as three Grammy Awards. Aside from being one of Canada’s best jazz musicians McConnell held the title of Officer of the  Order of Canada as well as being recognized as an inductee of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. For all he has accomplished  and all the people he has touched with his music, the memory of Rob McConnell will resonate forever as long as the sound of  brass can be heard.
